Temple Grandin
Temple Grandin is an American professor at Colorado State University. She was born in August 29, 1947 in Boston, Massachusetts. Temple has a disability called Autism, it's A serious developmental disorder that impairs the ability to communicate and interact. Temple Grandin had two very close friends in her life which were the teacher and the blind girl. Temple never had a romantic relationship with anyone because she didn't know what love is and she doesn't know how to show it. Temple never had any children with anyone. Grandin earned her Bachelor's Degree in psychology from Franklin Pierce College in 1970, her master's degree in Animal Science from Arizona State University in 1975, and her Doctoral Degree in Animal Science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Campaign in 1989. When Temple sees a door she looks at it as an opportunity to experience something new because that's what her teacher taught her to do. When temple feels unsure or when she is mad she uses her "Squeeze Machine" it is often compared to what is used to calm down cattle and such. Grandin invented restraint systems to keep animals calm and prevent them from getting hurt. It made their slaughter much less traumatic and it was made easier for the farmers and everyone benefitted from this invention. Temple Grandin was a writer, she wrote many articles or books some examples are "Emergence: Labeled Autistic, The Autistic Brain: Thinking Across the Spectrum". Temple is also an inventor, she invented items such as the "Squeeze Machine" and the Restraint systems for the cattle.
What made Temple Grandin so famous is that she made two very significant inventions that helped people with autism and cattle in a good way by changing their behavioral issues. What Grandin invented more autistic people was a "Squeeze Machine" that helped those specific individuals with those conditions be calm. Grandin also invented a design for cattle that made their slaughter much less traumatic and it helped farm workers by making their jobs much easier so basically it had a positive impact towards everyone who was involved because they all benefitted from Temple Grandin's inventions.
When you allow yourself to see obstacles as opportunities, you can allow yourself to learn from those experiences because it can turn into a positive experience because you have the chance to not only prove yourself but others as well. A personal obstacle I've experienced is having to do alot of assignments in a short period of time and I didn't think I would be able to do it but i worked very hard and i accomplished every assignment on time. Temple is afraid of doors but she was taught to think of them as opportunities.
